A downloadable game

A Linguistic game of Bones and Creatures.

Despite having 3 editions, Ossuarium was a poorly received card game in which players were expected to reconstruct creatures with bones by reconstructing the bones of a language. Unfortunately it was plagued by over-bloated, confusing rules that were, somehow, both hyper-specific and extremely vague.

This lead to many players interpreting the rules in vastly different ways, which resulted in arguments for nearly every game, leading to a notorious fist-fight during its first and only tournament. The game earned the reputation as a "friend-breaker" which spiraled out into the "Ossuarium Curse" said to ruin the relationship of any people who played together.

As word spread of its reputation fewer and fewer people purchased the game resulting game stores resorting to Field Destroying copies of the game, increasing its rarity.

This game is now seen as an oddity among collectors, and despite its rarity and a few highly exaggerated Ebay stories of its supposed "curse", individual cards only sell for around $3-$5 a piece.

This is such a cool concept! The contronym is also compelling. I also thought the shoulderblades were dragonfly wings until I looked closer, so the name is very appropriate.
